Quote of the Week
I love working on stories that get left behind in the race for the daily headlines — journalistic orphans. Often, the most worthwhile and convincing images tend to lurk within the hidden, oblique stories that fly just below the radar.

Book of the Week: The Shipping Forecast
by Mark Power
In The Shipping Forecast, Mark Power documents the 31 seaways covered by the BBC's shipping forecast, which is broadcast four times daily on BBC Radio. The areas include Finisterre, off northern Portugal and western Spain; Biscay, off northern Spain and western France; the Irish Sea; and southeast Iceland. In these stark photos taken on and around the high seas, life itself appears to have lost its coordinates, movements are disjointed and frenetic, and people wander aimlessly, staring out toward blank horizons.
