They Took My Kodachrome Away
Today would have been the birthday of Eastman Kodak founder George Eastman. In his honor, we celebrate (and mourn) the great Kodachrome film. ATLANTIC OCEAN—With a dog at their side, crewmen look out from the bridge of a Cunard freighter that is part of an Allied convoy en route to Great Britain from the United States. The ship is carrying seven airplanes, two torpedo boats, and 12 passengers, who agreed to travel at their own risk. The captain and his crew are Norwegian and have crossed the Atlantic many times during the war, 1941.
