This book, first published in 1978, is a compilation of work by Brittany-born photographer Guy Le Querrec, of places and subjects as varied as tourists in Saint-Tropez to the conditions of agricultural workers in Portugal around the time of the Revolution of the Carnations. These images carry a strong sense of simultaneous improvisation and geometry.

By choosing a precise intersection between subject and time, [the photographer] may transform the ordinary into the extraordinary and the real into the surreal.
